Buhari Congratulates Obiano, Promises FG’s Continued Support
President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated Willie Obiano on his re-election as the governor of Anambra State.
The President in a statement via his Official Twitter handle, assured the governor of the Federal Government’s continued support for the peace, progress and development of Anambra State.
President Buhari also commended the people of the state and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on the peaceful conduct of the November 18 election, saying it is “an important step in the right direction”.

Obiano, who is of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), on Sunday won the Anambra gubernatorial election.
The incumbent governor defeated Tony Nwoye of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Oseloka Obaze of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Osita Chidoka of United Progressive Party (UPP).
The governor secured 234, 071 votes while Nwoye came second with 98, 752 votes and Obaze in third with 70, 593 votes.
Chidoka was fourth, garnering 7, 746 votes.
