Buhari Fueling Nigeria’s Division With Nepotistic Appointments – Fasehun

President Muhammadu Buhari has been accused of fueling Nigeria’s division with his alleged unremitting nepotistic appointments.

This was according to Dr. Frederick Fasehun, founder of the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC), who said this on Tuesday while speaking with journalists in Lagos.

Fasehun was reacting to the recent appointments of 15 new directors at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

He said, “The OPC joins other well-meaning patriots to ask President Buhari to immediately cancel the new NNPC appointments. Out of the 15 new directors, 10 (67 per cent) come from the mostly Hausa-Fulani North. Three are Yoruba; two come from the South-South and none from the South-East.

“President Buhari must urgently review these appointments to reflect federal character. The Senate should bar the appointees from resuming in office if he fails to address this.

“By making these northern-dominated appointments, President Buhari has contradicted the letter and spirit of the constitution he swore to uphold, specifically the federal character principle in Section 14(3), ” he said.
