Buhari Presides Over FEC Meeting For First Time In Four Months

President Muhammadu Buhari, on Wednesday, presided over the Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting for the first time since April.

Recall that President Buhari embarked on an impromptu trip on May 7, 2017 to the United Kingdom on medical vacation.

Following his return on Saturday, August 19, 2017, the president canceled the FEC meeting scheduled to hold 23rd, August, stating that he would receive report of the suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ayo Oke probe from his home office.

Shortly before the commencement of the meeting, Buhari met with the Nigerian women basketball team who recently emerged African champions.

It was learnt that today’s meeting will touch on the issue of the on-going strike embarked on over two weeks ago by lecturers in government-owned universities across the country.

It was also learnt that a cabinet re-shuffle may occur at today’s meeting which is presently holding in the council chambers of the presidential villa.
