Buhari Returns To London In ‘Technical Stopover’

President Muhammadu Buhari has stopped over in London while returning to Nigeria from the United States where he had recently met with President Donald Trump.

Presidential spokesman, Mallam Garba Shehu, described the interruption in Buhari’s trip back to the country as a “technical stopover”.

Shehu told PUNCH in a phone conversation that his principal’s stopover in London, the United Kingdom would, however, be brief.

The presidential aide said the president and his team “had a technical stopover in London. I am sure if you keep your ears to the ground, you will hear of his arrival soon.”

Shehu did not give a specific date when President Buhari would be expected in the country.

Meanwhile, Buhari’s special adviser on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, said in a tweet on Thursday that the president “arrives Abuja this evening. The good work of rebuilding Nigeria continues.”
