The Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has blamed the President Muhammadu Buhari for the bloodshed in the house of Assembly, House of Representatives and the Senate rerun polls in Rivers.
Speaking through his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose said President Muhammadu Buhari must be held accountable for the killings and loss of lives in Rivers State rerun elections.
He said “Members of Buhari’s party, All Progressives Congress (APC) are emboldened to unleash violence on the people of Rivers State and other states in Nigeria because they know that the president won’t lift a finger provided his party members are the ones perpetrating evil.”
The governor who gushed about the past successful Ekiti state governorship election said “ no life was lost during and after the election in Ekiti and no ballot was snatched EkitiGate should be asked what the Rivers election in which eight people were killed and several others injured will be called.”
The governor maintained that the violence in rivers run has destroyed the legacy of free, fair and transparent elections that the former PDP government through President Goodluck Jonathan stood for.
