Buhari’s Aide Urges Parents To Stop Children From Watching BBNaija

Lauretta Onochie, Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari, on Social Media, has called on Nigerian parents to stop their children from watching reality television show, Big Brother Naija.

Onochie, in a statement via her Twitter handle on Sunday, was reacting to calls by Nigerians asking the Federal Government to ban the reality show.

Many Nigerians had taken to social media, calling for the ban of the Big Brother programme, saying it promotes immoralities and has negative impact on children.

But reacting on Sunday, the presidential aide, said the government has no power to scrap the show, rather parents should stop their children from watching the reality programme.

Onochie wrote “Stop asking me to fix Big Brother Naija. I don’t have such powers.

“Big Brother is an adult programme. If your children are watching it, it’s your fault, not mine, It’s not also compulsory to watch. Use your remote control and change the channel.

Big Brother Naija, formerly known as Big Brother Nigeria, is a reality TV show based on the Big Brother TV series in which 12 and above contestants live in an isolated house and compete for a huge cash prize at the end of the show by avoiding being evicted by viewers.
