CHAN 2016: We Are Ready – Oliseh

Ahead of Nigeria’s first game at the ongoing 2016 African Nations Championship in Rwanda, Super Eagles head coach Sunday Oliseh has vowed that his team is focused and battle ready to make the nation proud.

Super Eagles will face Niger Republic on Monday (today) in their first game of the tour¬nament, with Oliseh maintaining that he is not prepared to share the spoils with the Nigeriens, adding that he and his back room staff have molded the players into top shape after two weeks of intensive training in Pretoria.

Speaking to Goal.com, the former Super Eagles captain said: “As you can see every player in my team is match fit and ready to give their very best in this tournament.

“We have put in adequate preparations and we have been very lucky with injuries too.

“The camp mood is very good, right from the beginning the boys have been focused and cohesion among them is great.

“We are building a team, our objective is not just about winning the championship, but for the team to get better and also build a solid team.

“If you notice the team, the players are very young and we plan to integrate some of them to the main team for the AFCON and World Cup qualifiers.

“Let Nigerians continue to support the Super Eagles and we will deliver by the special grace of God.”
