CHAN Qualifier: Home Based Eagles Begins Camp Thursday

The home-based Super Eagles are scheduled to hit camp on Thursday ahead of the 2018) qualifier, the team management has announced.

The announcement was made on the Super Eagles official Twitter handle on Sunday.

The team is expected to play either Benin Republic or Togo.

“Our camp for the #2018CHAN qualifiers vs Benin Rep/Togo will now open on Thursday, July 20, 2017.

“Camp site will be communicated later,” the team’s handle wrote.

Recall that on July 10, Super Eagles’ Chief Coach, Salisu Yusuf, invited 30 players to camp for next month’s 2018 African Nations Championship qualifying fixture against the winner between Togo and Benin Republic.

Goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Nigeria Professional Football League leading scorer Stephen Odey, Akwa United’s midfielder Alhassan Ibrahim, Elisha Golbe of League leaders Plateau United and Chiamaka Madu of champions Enugu Rangers were all called-up.

The home-based Eagles will host either Benin or Togo in the first leg on August 11, with the return fixtures to be played on August 19.

The first leg, first round qualifier between Togo and Benin Republic, comes up today (Sunday) in Lome.
