Controversy As Egyptian Lawyer Says It’s ‘National Duty’ To Rape Women In Ripped Jeans

Egyptian lawyer Nabih al-Wahsh recently shared his misogynistic views on TV, in which he states that women who wear ripped jeans, specifically from the back, deserve to be raped.

Wahsh also said that it is a “national duty” to rape women who wear such clothes as they are “inviting men to harass them.”

“Girls must respect themselves so others respect them. Protecting morals is more important than protecting borders.

“Would you accept a girl walking in the street revealing half of her thigh? A girl walking like this – harassing her is a patriotic duty and raping her is a national duty,” he said.

Wahsh, in another statement, said “[My own] daughter would also deserve that [rape, sexual harassment] if she decided to wear jeans that are ripped from the back.” (Source: TheArabNews)
