Corruption Allegation: IGP Idris Sues Saraki, Senate Committee

The Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, on Thursday, filed a suit against the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and the Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges.

IGP Idris filed the suit against the allegations of corruption and misconduct leveled against him by Senator Isa Misau.

Misau, who represents Bauchi Central in the upper legislative chamber, had among other allegations claimed that the IGP receives money ranging from N10 million to N15 million as bribe from Police Commissioners who sought special postings.

In opposition to Misau’s numerous allegations, the Police Chief approached a Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday, asking the court to declare null and void, the committee set up by the Senate to probe him.
