Count Me Out Of 2019 Vice Presidency, Wike Says

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has blamed “political mischief makers” for the circulation of “fake” 2019 vice presidential campaign posters of him.

Governor Wike, in a statement by his media, Simeon Nwakaudu, dissociated himself from the campaign posters which were reportedly sighted in parts of Abuja.

The governor advised members of the public to disregard the posters, adding that vice presidential candidates do not run for offices but are rather picked by nominated presidential candidates.

“The attention of the Rivers State Governor, His Excellency, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has been drawn to the posting and circulation of fake vice presidential posters by political mischief makers,” the statement read.

“We urge Nigerians to disregard these posters as they have no link with the Rivers State Governor. Nobody runs for the office of the Vice President. The Rivers State Governor has the mandate of the good people of Rivers State and he is focused on delivering quality projects and programmes for the people.

“Governor Wike will not be distracted by the antics of misguided politicians who want to mislead Nigerians.”
