A Federal High Court in Jos, has declared the Chairman of League Management Company (LMC), Shehu Dikko, wanted for contempt.

Policemen from the FCT command stormed the LMC headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday in search of Dikko after he disobeyed court orders, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

It will be recalled that the Jos court had in August ordered the LMC to reinstate Giwa FC to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), and a reschedule all its matches or a stoppage of the ongoing league in pursuit of the appeal at the Appeal Court.

The LMC has since then failed to comply with the court orders, which now prompted the court on Tuesday to the FCT police command the warrant of arrest for the LMC chieftain following an order of arrest signed by Justice I Kunda last week for them to be committed to prison for contempt.

The warrant also demanded the arrest of Salihu Abubakar, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of LMC, for the same offence.

It was gathered that the police officers stormed the LMC premises for the duo, however the search efforts proved abortive.

The officers thereafter headed for the residence of Dikko at Lake Chad Crescent in Maitama, Abuja.

According to NAN, staffs of the LMC refused to comply with the policemen as they were seen doing their job and refusing to utter a word to the officers on the where about of their bosses.

The court had on August 31 ordered the indefinite suspension of the Nigerian Professional Football League until the LMC obey its orders, and again, the league management body refused to comply.
