Court Declares PDP Caretaker Committee Illegal
A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, on Monday, declared the caretaker committee constituted to take over the affairs of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from its acting National Chairman, Ali Modu Sheriff, as invalid and illegal.
Recall that the PDP, on Saturday, removed Sheriff, and set up a caretaker committee to be headed by Senator Ahmed Makarfi, a former Governor of Kaduna State.
Makarfi was mandated to elect a new National Working Committee for the party within three months.

Members of the committee includes;
Senator Ben Obi – Secretary
Senator Ugbesia – Member
Sen Abdul Ningi – Member
Prince Dayo Adeyeye – Member
Aisha Aliyu – Member
Barrister Usman – Member
But in the latest development, Justice Ibrahim Buba in his ruling, directed the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, to bar the members of the constituted caretaker committee from taking over the affairs of the party.
