Customs Boss Dares Senate, Appears Without Uniform

Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Hameed Ali

The Comptroller-General of Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, Col. Hameed Ibrahim Ali, rtd has dared the Nigerian Senate as he arrived the National Assembly without wearing the complete Customs Uniform.

Recall that the Senate had directed Ali to appear before it by 10:00am in his complete uniform to answer question on his controversial policy on import duties on vehicles.

Recall also that Ali was to appear yesterday, Wednesday, but following his absence, the senate threatened that if he failed to appear before it today, Thursday, it would have to ask the police to arrest him.

The custom boss however arrived the National Assembly at about 9:30am wearing a white Caftan, White Cap, Black Shoes.

He was led to the office by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Senator Ita Enang.

The decision of the Senate yesterday followed a motion by Senator George Sekibo, PDP, Rivers East who relied on Section 89 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria( as amended) and seconded by Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu.
