The minister for Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung has insisted that Samson Siasia remain as Super Eagles head coach.

Recall that NFF President, Amaju Pinnick last week said the football body is set to hire a foreign coach, stressing that no indigenous coach has the capability to qualify the Eagles for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, after the team missed out on AFCON 2017.

However, speaking to new men in Abuja, Dalung said Siasia will continue his job, adding that the disposition of hiring and sacking coaches must cease.

“The hiring and firing of coaches is a problem, when shall we have an end to it? Dalung said.

“In my view, we place personal interest above national interest. You don’t access a coach with one match. You give him ample opportunity and generate correct data to access his performance. The hiring and firing of coaches just on one performance speaks volumes of senses of judgement and it does not augur well for our football. It must stop now.”
