Detained Ex-Jigawa Gov. Sule Lamido And Two Sons Flown To Abuja

The authority of Kano central prison has on Monday flown detained former Governor of Jigawa state, Alhaji Sule Lamido, his sons, Aminu and Mustapha to Abuja.

This is in preparation of Tuesdays hearing of the bail application of the trio by a vacation judge.

A Prison source who pleaded anonymity said the former governor and his sons left the detention facilities Monday morning.

It was gathered that hundreds of supporters that had surrounded the detention facility had disappeared as Prison warders informed those who had turned up for visit that Mr Lamido has been taken to Abuja.

You will recall that on July 9th, a Federal High Court sitting in Kano State, Nigeria’s Northwest region, ordered Lamido and his two sons to be remanded in Kano prison custody till September 28, for allegedly receiving a sum of N1.35 billion kickback from a government contractor.
