Ekiti Lawmakers Take To The Streets To Protest Fayose’s Harassment By Buhari

Ekiti State House of Assembly lawmakers have taken to the streets to protest harassment of the state Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, by the Federal Government.

According to Naij, 26 members of the state Assembly took over Okesa Junction, Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State in protest.

The lawmakers alleged that the Federal Government uses its witch-hunting apparatus to intimidate Fayose as well as members of the state Assembly.

In a related news, the Executive Director of the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP), Mr Adetokunbo Mumuni, in statement said the freezing of the account of Governor Ayodele Fayose is lawful under Section 308 of the 1999 constitution and international law.

Meanwhile, the former national secretary of Labour Party and Constitutional lawyer, Dr. Kayode Ajulo, described the described the freezing of Fayose’s account by the EFCC as “illegal” and an abuse on his immunity.
