Ex-Bayern Munich Boss, Carlo Ancelotti Offered Italy Job Amid Arsenal Speculations

Ex-Bayern Munich Coach Carlo Ancelotti who is a leading contender to replace Arsene Wenger at Arsenal, has been offered the job of Italian national team manager, according to Sky Italy.

Recall that the Italian national team has been without a head coach since November 2017, following the sack of its veteran coach Gian Piero Ventura, after the four-time champions failed to reach the 2018 World Cup finals.

58-year-old Ancelotti who has been out of football since being sacked by Bayern Munich in September following a 3-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, has been considered to be one of the frontrunners to replace the Frenchman at the Emirates.

The former Chelsea, AC Milan and Real Madrid manager revealed he would be interested in becoming the new boss at Arsenal.

“I can say I would like to work again, but that depends on me,

“If I find the right possibility, the right project, I would be delighted to continue,” he had said.

But the Arsenal hierarchy may have to move quickly after Sky Italy reported that the Italian FA had offered him the national team job.

It was reported that the 58-year-old coach held talks with Italian Football Federation commissioner Roberto Fabbricini and sub-commissioner Alessandro Costacurta in Rome on Monday night.

Ancelotti is a highly-decorated manager, having won the Champions League with both AC Milan and Real Madrid, as well as league titles in five different countries.
