Ex-Minister, Bolaji Abdullahi, Picked As New APC Spokesperson

More than a year after Lai Mohammed was appointed as minister by President Muhammadu Buhari from his post as the National Publicity Secretary of the center ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), a former Minister of Sports, Bolaji Abdullahi, has been picked to succeed him.

Abdullahi and Mohammed are from Kwara State, and the former is seen as a protégé of Senate President Bukola Saraki.

The APC have been in battle of wits with its Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Timi Frank, who has argued severally that he ought to have succeeded Mohammed going by the party’s constitution, claims ignored by the National Working Committee of the party.

Abdullahi’s appointment is coming on the heels of his being nominated at a meeting of the North Central zone of the APC, which held at Chelsea Hotel, Abuja, on Thursday.

The new APC spokesperson was sacked by former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2014.
