False Assets Declaration: CCT Adjourns Saraki’s Trial To March 18

The Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), on Friday, fixed next week Friday, March 25th, for the continuation of the trial of Senate President Bukola Saraki.

Saraki, who has been charged with 13 counts of false declarations while he was the governor of Kwara state, was said to represented by 66 lawyers, among whom are seven senior advocates of Nigeria (SAN) and supported by not less than 50 senators at today’s sitting.

President of the CCT, Danladi Umar, asked the defence to ensure that he served all motions and processes on the prosecution counsel to avoid further delay of the trial.

He therefore adjourned the case to Friday, March 18, 2016, for moving of the motion and possible hearing of the substantive matter.
