Fashola To Represent Buhari In Uyo For Nigeria, Zambia Clash

Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) will represent President Muhammadu Buhari at the 2018 World Cup Qualification match between the Super Eagles and Chipolopolo of Zambia in Uyo on Saturday.

As reported by the Punch on Friday, the former Governor of Lagos State, Senate President Bukola Saraki, Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung amongst other Federal Government dignitaries will fly into the Akwa Ibom State capital on Saturday for the crucial contest.

Host Governor Udom Emmanuel and members of the Akwa Ibom State cabinet, NOC President Habu Gumel and Members of the NFF Executive Committee and Management will also be present.

Three time African Champions Eagles who top their qualifying group with ten points are seeking a sixth appearance at the top flight FIFA tournament.

Nigeria made their first appearance in the USA 1994 World Cup and also made subsequent appearances in France 1998, Korea/Japan 2002, South Africa 2010 and Brazil 2014.

During April 1994, the Super Eagles ranked 5th in the FIFA World Rankings, the highest FIFA ranking ever achieved by an African football team.
