FG Should Punish Peddlers Of Buhari’s Death – Orji Uzor Kalu

Former Abia State Governor, Orji Uzor Kalu has called on the Federal Government to punish those responsible for spreading death rumours of President Muhammadu Buhari.

He made the statement while hailing Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo who went to see Buhari, who has been on medical vacation for over sixty five days in London.

The former governor said appropriate measures should be taken to bring to book perpetrators of the hate speeches and ‘death wishes’ against President Buhari.

He further urged Nigerians to continue to pray for the President’s health improvement, adding that those alleging that President Buhari is on a Life support machine have been proven to be wrong.

“The confirmation of the President’s health status by the acting president and wife of the President, Mrs Aisha Buhari is something good Christians and good Muslims should embrace with joy,” said Kalu in an interview with journalists on Thursday.

“Those wishing the President dead and spreading false rumours about his health are exposing their ignorance about life and death.

“I do not understand what joy people derive in wishing their fellow human being dead. Anybody can fall sick, but no good Christian and Muslim would wish someone dead,’’ he said.

While commending Osinbajo, the governor said the Acting President had “not only shown leadership, but also maintained the virtues of the President.’’

He also urged all Nigerians to pray for Buhari’s quicker recovery in the “hope for a better and stronger Nigeria.’’

Kalu, who was a member of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) and the Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA), had in late 2016 defected to the All Progress Congress (APC).
