FIFA Ranking: Eagles Move Up 3 Places

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have climbed up three places in the latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday for the month of January.

The Eagles now occupy 63rd position, after ending the year 2015 in 66th place, and are placed 12th in the continental ranking.

However, African champions, Cote d’Ivoire remains the best team in Africa, while Algeria and Cape Verde Islands are 28th and 33rd in the World and 2nd and 3rd in Africa respectively.

They are followed by Ghana, Senegal, Egypt, Chad and Tanzania.

The top five teams on the planet had no change, with Belgium leading the way followed by Argentina, Spain, Germany and Chile.

Brazil, Portugal, Colombia, England and Austria complete an unchanged top 10 as none of the top 20 teams has played a game yet in 2016.

The next FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking will be published on March 3
