FIFA Ranking: Nigeria Maintains Position In May

Nigeria remained in 67th place at the latest monthly world football ranking for May released on Thursday by FIFA.

The Super Eagles also maintained 14th in Africa.

The three time Africa champions were adjudged the same rank in the World according to the ranking released in April 2016, however they were able to garner 540 points as against the 534 they had last month.

On the continent, Algeria remained the best football nation in Africa with 771 points, followed by Cote D’Ivoire, Ghana, Senegal, Egypt, Cape Verde Island, Tunisia, Congo DR, and Guinea respectively to make up the top ten.

All teams in the top 50 maintained their positions this month, as no international matches were played.

With no major change in the top ten, focus now shifted to Philippines who moved up one rank this month to 115 – their best ever position on the Fifa/Cola-Cola World Ranking.
