FIFA Ranking: Nigeria Retains 40th Position

The Super Eagles of Nigeria retained the 40th position in the May edition of the FIFA/Coca-Cola world ranking released by the world football governing body on Thursday.

Gernot Rohr’s men remained unchanged owing to inactivity in the month under review.

The Eagles are also fifth in Africa behind Egypt, Senegal, Cameroon and Burkina Faso who maintained their positions.

In the global scene, the top 20 places stayed unaffected with Brazil at the top with 1672 points, while Argentina are second with reigning world champions Germany third place.

Chile and Colombia are fourth and fifth respectively, in a South American-dominated top five.

The next Coca-Cola/Fifa ranking will be published on 1 June 2017.
