FIFA Ranking: Super Eagles Move Up Three Places In Latest Ranking
Nigeria has moved up three places in the latest global ranking released by the world football governing body on Thursday.
The Eagles were ranked 67th in the world after dropping nine places to 70th in the previous month – their poorest drop in 2016
They are also the 16th ranked team in Africa, behind Algeria, Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, Senegal, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Cameroon, Congo DR, Cape Verde, Mali, Congo, South Africa, Uganda and Guinea.

The Super Eagles were placed in the “group of death” in the qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup.
The Eagles were paired with Zambia, Cameroon and Algeria in Group B.
The team will start its qualification campaign with a game away to Zambia on October 3 2016 and finish away to Algeria on November 7 2017.
It was good news for Ghana as they moved a place up (35) in the latest Fifa World Ranking – moving above the Czech Republic (34) and Cote d’Ivoire (36) on the ladder.

The Black Stars are ranked above Cote d’Ivoire for the first time since May 2011.
There was no change on the global scene as the top 19 remained unchanged, with Argentina, Belgium, Colombia, Germany and Chile maintaining their top five positions respectively.
