Former Health Minister, Babatunde Osotimehin Dies

Nigeria’s former Minister of health and former Managing Director of the National Agency for the Control of AIDS, NACA, Babatunde Osotimehin, has died.

Osotimehin, reportedly died in the early hours of Monday, June 5, 2017, sources close to the family have said.

Until his death, the 68-year-old was the Executive Director of the United Nations Populations Fund, UNFPA.

Born February 6, 1949, Osotimehin was appointed the fourth Executive Director of UNFPA in November 2010 and was reappointed in August 2014.
