Golden Eaglets To Arrive Abuja Wednesday

After defying all odds to retain the FIFA U-17 World Cup, the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria, will arrive the country’s capital of Abuja on Wednesday, an NFF official has said.

Emmanuel Amuneke’s team recorded their fifth title triumph at the cadet tournament on Monday after defeating Mali 2-0 in an all-African final, in Vina Del Mar, Chile.

The Eaglets will embark on a triumphant journey to Abuja on Wednesday, from Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.

Speaking to africanFootball.com, the official said: “The Golden Eaglets will land in Abuja between 2:00pm and 3:00pm on Wednesday. The team will be on Emirates flight from Dubai.”

Skipper Kelechi Nwakali won the tournament’s Most Valuable Player award, while striker Victor Osimhen won the Golden Ball award, for his record-breaking 10 goals.
