There was pandemonium at the Akure South Local Government Secretariat on Tuesday morning after some Fulani herdsmen chased out workers following a disagreement.
According to the Punch, one of the workers of the council was allegedly macheted by the herdsmen.
The chaos was, however, quelled after operatives of the police command in Ondo and men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps intervened.
Members of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, called on the state government to act on the matter.
This comes less than 24 hours after the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Sulyman Abdulkareem, raised the alarm over the destruction of the institution’s multi-million naira research and training farms by cattle belonging to unidentified herdsmen.
