Herdsmen Invade Benue Community, Rape Woman

This comes barely a week after the Anti-Open Grazing Law assented by Governor Samuel Ortom took effect in the state.

The incident, which occurred late Monday, was disclosed to newsmen on Tuesday by the Chairman of Logo LGA, Richard Nyajo.

Nyajo, who spoke in Makardi, the state capital, revealed that the suspected herdsmen equally burnt down some houses during the raid.

The Local Government Chairman lamented the ugly incident and urged the relevant authorities to come to the aide of community.

Nyajo further disclosed that the rape victim and other villagers who were injured during the invasion are being treated at an undisclosed hospital.

Meanwhile, The WHISTLER recalls that the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), on Sunday, called on Federal Government and the National Assembly (NASS) to intervene in the Anti-Open Grazing Law operating in the state.

“Our people were not educated on modern method of rearing cattle so that when provision for ranching was being made, government would take into consideration the total number of cattle in the state,” Chairman of the association, Danladi Ciroma, had lamented.
