House to Re-Examine 2016 Appropriation Bill

In order to ensure that the appropriation bill is an implementable document, the House of Representatives, on Tuesday, announced that it would re-examine the N6.03 trillion 2016 budget.

The Speaker of the House, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, made the announcement after the lawmakers concluded a two-hour closed-door session.

At the meeting, the lawmakers discussed the 2016 budget and the disagreements that trailed its passage.

Spokesman of the House, Representative, Abdulrazak Namdas, while speaking with newsmen shortly after the meeting, said the House was yet to receive any formal communications from the President regarding any concern with the budget.

He, however noted that said the speaker would meet with the President to identify possible areas of concern.
