Senator representing Bayelsa East senatorial district, Ben Murray-Bruce, on Wednesday said he did not and would not accept any SUV from the Senate.
The controversial senator, who made the statement via his twitter handle said peradventure he has to consider the offer, he will accept only made in Nigeria SUV.
He said,” For the avoidance of doubt, I did not and will not accept any SUV. The only SUV, I, Ben Murray-Bruce will accept is a made in Nigeria car.”
Recall that the senate, few days ago, allegedly purchased 108 Sport Utility Vehicles for its members.
However, justifying its decision, the senate said it did not purchase 108 SUVs but 36 utility vehicles, saying the vehicles were needed for official assignments by members.

Shouldn’t the question be where was YOUR senator? I made my constituents proud by my decision. What did yours do? pic.twitter.com/w2Ff1eOQ8z

@benmurraybruce Common sense dictates that in this belt tightening time, such a luxury by our elected reps is absolutely irresponsible

@benmurraybruce well done Mr Senator. Now, do you really need a NEW “made in Nigeria” SUV? Do you need a new car at all?Who will pay for it?
