Ibrahimovic, Pogba Fit, May Face Newcastle On Saturday – Mourinho

Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo have all recovered from injuries and will be available for Manchester United’s home game against Newcastle United on Saturday, coach Jose Mourinho said on Friday.

Pogba has been out since September with a hamstring injury during the 3-0 Champions League win over Basel on 12 September.

The Red Devils who started the season in fine form, have lost two games and drawn one since after Pogba’s injury.

After losing at Chelsea in their last Premier League game before the international break, José Mourinho blamed Pogba’s absence for his team’s hardship.

Mourinho said: “Now I can speak because Paul is back but you can clearly see Manchester United this season before Paul’s injury and after Paul’s injury. There are qualities in our football that influence our approach in matches, with Pogba and without Pogba, that’s as simple as that.”

Former Swedish Striker Ibrahimovic, is yet to play this season after suffering a cruciate knee ligament injury in April, while Argentine defender Rojo suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury in the same Europa League game.

Speaking at a press conference on Friday, the 54-year-old united boss revealed all three are in contention to feature against Newcastle at Old Trafford.

“All three selected for the match,” Mourinho told a news conference on Friday.

“Paul, you can clearly see Manchester United this season before Paul’s injury and after Paul’s injury.

“There are qualities in our football that influence our approach in matches, with Pogba and without Pogba, that’s as simple as that.

“Zlatan, last season we played with him every minute almost until he was injured, this season we learn how to play without him, but he’s a very important player for us and of course welcome back.”
