Igbo Adopts Alex Ekwueme Declaration, Demands 6Yrs Single Term For President

- Proposes 5 Vice Presidential Seats For Each Geo-Political Zones

The Ndigbo, on Monday, adopted what it called the ‘Alex Ekwueme Declaration’ at the South East summit on restructuring, proposing a single six-year- term for the president.

The summit of the Igbo ethnic extraction in Nigeria also proposed five presidential seats for five geopolitical zones each, while the president comes from one of the six geopolitical zones of the country.

Stakeholders at the summit convened by President of the Ohaneze, John Nwodo called for equality in the affairs of Nigeria.

Present at the ongoing South East restructuring summit are Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, former CBN governor, Charles Soludo, Senators Enyinnaya Abaribe, Victor Umeh, Samuel Anyanwu, amongst others.

The summit is ongoing in Akwa, the Anambra State capital.
