Igbo Should Be Next Registrar General Of CAC, Group Tells Buhari

A group of Igbo professionals under the aegis of Ohaneze Youth Forum, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to apoint an Igbo person as next Registrar General of Corpoate Affairs Comission.

The group in a statement made available to THE WHISTLER, pointed out that since the inception of CAC, no Igbo person had been the RG.

According to them, the only Igbo person to have headed the CAC was Mrs. Oby Nwosu, who served in acting capacity and was later not consiered for the RG job.

“Against this, Ohaneze Youth Forum, is soliciting the support of the Acting President, national leadership of ndi igbo, ndi igbo in National Assembly, friends of ndi igbo and all well meaning Nigerians who are mindful of Section 13, Part ii of Chapter 2 of the 1999 Commission and the provisions of the Federal Character Commission, to join in the call for the next Registrar General of CAC to be an igbo man or woman.

“Al Mustafa who was the Registrar General of CAC from 2005 to 2013, is from Bauchi State and the incumbent, Mr. Mahmoud Bello, is from Sokoto State,” the statement reads in part.
