IGP’s Probe Continues Regardless OF FG’s Charges Against Misau – Senate

The Nigerian Senate has said regardless of the Federal Government’s charges of forgery and false allegation against Senator Isa Misau, it would go on with the probe of the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Idris.

Misau, it would be recalled, had levelled allegations of corruption and misconduct against IGP Idris.

The Senator had accused the IGP of extorting money from Commissioners of Police, State Mobile Commanders and Special Protection Units Commanders for special postings.

This had prompted the office of the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation to file the said charges against Misau on behalf of the police chief.

But the Chairman, Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, Sam Anyanwu, told newsmen that in spite of the charges against the Senator, the panel would continue with the probe of Mr. Idris.
