Ikpeazu also directed all payment of levies in the market across the state to be immediately suspended pending the outcome of the joint meeting between the Ministry of Trade and Investment, Board of Internal Revenue (BIR), Market Patrons and relevant Local Government Areas (LGA) in the state.

Recall that a week ago Ikpeazu dissolved the leadership of all markets in Aba, the commercial city of the state, citing that traders were being extorted by unauthorized individuals using his name and that of his wife.
