INEC Clears 42 Candidates For Kogi, Bayelsa Governorship Elections

42 candidates and their deputies have been cleared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), for the governorship elections in Kogi and Bayelsa states, scheduled for November 21 and December 5 respectively.

This was contained in the final list published by INEC and signed by the acting Secretary of the commission, U. F. Usman on Monday.

According to the breakdown, 22 candidates are to contest for the governorship seat in Kogi State, and 20 candidates will contest in Bayelsa State.

Candidates to participate in the governorship elections in Kogi State include the incumbent governor and PDP candidate, Idris Wada, the APC candidate and former governor,  Abubakar Audu,  Akwu Umar Goodman (APGA), Philips Omeiza Ozovehe Salawu (LP), Emmanuel Enesi Ozigi (PPA) and  Dickson F. Fred (Accord), while those jostling for the governorship seat in Bayelsa State include the incumbent governor and PDP candidate,  Seriake Dickson, APC candidate and former governor of the state, Timipre Sylva, Chief  Ken Gbahligha Gbalikuma (ACPN), Hon. Deacon Christopher Fullpower Enai (APGA) and Ogoriba Timiniderimo Kaiser (LP).
