Iwobi Scores Twice As Nigeria Thrash Argentina In Krasnodar

Super Eagles of Nigeria came from two goals down to beat Argentina 4-2 in an international friendly game in Krasnodar, Russia on Tuesday night.

Goals from Alex Iwobi, Kelechi Iheanacho and Brian Idowu gave the Eagles a much-needed victory ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Ever Benega opened the scoring from a free kick to put Argentina ahead in the 27th minutes, before Manchester City Forward Sergio Agüero tapped home Pavó’s cross to double the South American’s lead nine minutes later.

Nigeria reduced the tally as Iheanacho scored from a free kick in the 44th minute to put Gernot Rohr side back into the game.

Iwobi leveled for the Eagles seven minutes after the break before, Idowu put the West Africans ahead two minutes later.

Iwobi sealed the victory in 73rd minute when he smashed home from an Ahmed Musa pass to put more misery on Jorge Sampaoli’s team.
