JAMB Commences Sale Of 2017 UTME Forms March

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, said on Tuesday that sale of application forms for the Universities Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will commence in March.

As part of it’s restructuring, the organization also revealed that with effect from this year (2017), candidates awaiting results would no longer be eligible to apply for the UTME.

This means that candidates will now be allowed to apply for only one choice of public university, while the new registration platforms now first choice, second choice, third choice and fourth choice and not most preferred, preferred choice

In a statement by spokesperson of JAMB, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the agency said the recent development, which took over three decades, will increase the opportunities available to candidates as most public universities do not consider candidates on the second choice list.

He said, “We have designed a Central Admissions Processing System where the Board will interface with the institutions and ensure the compliance of this reform.

“The summary is that no candidate will be admitted with awaiting result.
