Embattled Judge of the Abuja Federal High Court, Justice Adeniyi Ademola, has rejected a terrorism case brought before him by the Department of State Services (DSS) against one Haruna Abbas and two others.

The case, Ademola said, would not be fair for him to continue with following the recent raid on judges’ homes by the DSS.

Recall that operatives of the DSS simultaneously invaded homes of two judges of the Federal High Court – as well as those of Supreme Court judges, which included that of Justice Ademola.

THE WHISTLER recalls also that Ademola, on October 18, withdrew from a case brought before him by the DSS against former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki.

Ademola, on Thursday, announced his withdrawal from the terrorism case, noting that he would return the case file to the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice Ibrahim Auta, for reassignment.

“The matter was here last on June 13, and it involves the DSS; I don’t want to handle any of its matters anymore,” Ademola said.

“In the interest of fair hearing, I think I will move the file to another court because it will not be fair to me and to DSS.

“So, I will return the file to the chief judge to reassign.

“The case file is hereby returned to the chief judge for reassignment to another judge on personal grounds,” he added.

Meanwhile, one of the defendants pleaded with Ademola not to withdraw from the case, noting that he would rather be tried by him.
