Kaduna APC Crisis Deepens As El-Rufai Demolishes Factional Party’s Office

The factional secretariat of the Kaduna APC located along number 11 B Sambo in the state capital has been demolished in the early hours of Tuesday.

The factional APC, led by Suleiman Hunkuyi, senator representing Kaduna North, had last Thursday issued a query to the state Governor Malam Nasir El-Rufai, accusing him of anti-people and anti-party activities.

On the same day, the factional APC code-named ‘APC Akida’ and the ‘Restoration APC’ unveiled its office, saying that they had to stay away from the headquarters of the party along Ali Akilu road to avoid the activities of thugs.

Less than 24 hours after it was unveiled, the office was defaced with a red paint, but the party official remained resilient.

Events in the ruling party in the state got worse as the group on Sunday, while claiming to be recognized as the state chapter by the APC national leadership, also handed El-Rufai a six month suspension for failing to respond to the query issued to him.

As likely retaliation to his suspension, Governor El-Rufai allegedly ordered the demolition of the one-storey building amid heavy security.
