Kenyans Take To Streets To Demand Odinga’s Declaration As President

Supporters of the opposition candidate in Kenya general election have taken to the streets to demand that Raila Odinga be declared president.

The protesters claimed that Odinga of the National Super Alliance won the presidential election that held few days ago.

Musalia Mudavadi, leader of the National Super Alliance told newsmen that he was reliably informed by sources within the electoral commission (IEBC) that their candidate (Odinga) won the election but that the results were meddled.

Mudavadi claimed Odinga won the election by more than 8.04 million votes against incumbent president, Uhuru Kenyatta’s 7.75 million votes.

The IEBC website, however, posits Kenyatta as winner with 8.1 million votes against Odinga with 6.7 million.

“Evidently, the accurate and lawful results in the presidential election is the transmission received from the polling stations and contained in the IEBC servers and not the unverified displays,” said Mudavadi.

“We demand that the IEBC chairperson announce the presidential election results forthwith and declare Raila Amolo Odinga… as the duly elected president,” he said.
