Kidnapped Reps Member, Durbunde Regains Freedom

Garba Durbunde, the House of Representatives member kidnapped on Tuesday, has been freed by his captors.

This was according to spokesperson of the House, Abdulrazak Namdas, who made this known to journalists on Wednesday.

“He has been released unhurt and is with his family,” Mr. Namdas said.

Asked if ransom was paid before Durbunde’s freedom was secured, the spokesperson said, “I learnt he wasn’t the actual target so he was released without any ransom.”

Durbunde is the lawmaker representing Sumaila/Takai federal constituency in the 8th Assembly.
