The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has dissolved the boards of ministries and parastatals in the state.
The dissolution which comes barely two days after his inauguration, was contained in a statement issued in Lokoja by the Chief of Staff to the governor, Mr Edward Onoja.
According to the statement, the dissolution was to pave way for the restructuring of the boards and to take stock of their state with a view to positioning them for greater efficiency and performance.
The governor directed the chairmen and Directors-General of the affected agencies to hand over government’s property in their possession to the most senior officers.
The statement, however, noted that those not affected are the Judicial Service Commission, Civil Service Commission and the State Independent Electoral Commission.
The Governor thanked all the chairmen and members of the boards and parastatals for their services to the people of Kogi State and assured them of the readiness of his administration to move the state forward.
