The All Progressives Congress (APC) deputy governorship candidate, and running mate to the late Abubakar Audu, in the November 21 gubernatorial election in Kogi State, Hon James Abiodun Faleke, on Monday, filed a suit at the state Election Petitions Tribunal sitting, to challenge his non declaration as the Kogi governor-elect.
Faleke, accompanied by Mohammed Audu, son of the late Abubakar Audu, and lawyers, submitted the petition to the clerk of the tribunal.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, hundreds of party members and supporters converged on the state High Court premises, venue of the tribunal, to witness the event.
Faleke said, “I’m here today (Monday) to approach the tribunal in line with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to ensure an interpretation is given to what happened on November 21.
“We are here to ensure we get our victory back. It is my right to do it,” he said.
