Kogi Assembly Impeaches Speaker, Deputy

The speaker of Kogi state House of Assembly, Momoh Jimoh-Lawal, has been impeached on Thursday.

Impeached alongside the Kogi was his deputy, Aliyu Aku and minority leader, Hassan Bello.

Jimoh-Lawal has been replaced by Hon. Godwin Osiyi representing Ogori-magongo as the new speaker while Hon. James Eneche from Olamaboro is the new minority leader.

Jimoh-Lawal was reportedly removed by the 17 out of 25 members of the Kogi State House of Assembly.

He had been re-elected as speaker of the inaugurated 6th legislative assembly of the state in June.
