Like El-Rufai, Gov Lalong Sacks 747 Plateau Teachers

Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State has dismissed 747 primary school teachers in the state.

This was according to Mr. Mathew Sule, Chairman of the state’s Universal Basic Education (UBE), who said among those sacked were teachers who lacked the required qualifications to teach in the state.

Sule said the state’s Teaching Service Commission mandates all its teachers to possess the minimum teaching qualification certificates to be able to teach in the state.

The State’s UBE Chairman equally announced the recall of 141 teachers that were earlier disengaged

He said the state government plans to recruit new teachers to fill the gap left by the sacked teachers.

Recall that the previous administration of former Governor Jonah Jang had fired about 4,000 primary school teachers in the state for the same reason.
