Macron Donates $1bn To African Entrepreneurs

The French President, Mr Emmanuel Macron, on Wednesday, signed a 1bn Dollars French Development Agency (AFP) investment agreement to support the growth of African Entrepreneurs.

Macron made the announcement during a 15-minute interactive session hosted by Tony Elemulu Foundation for 2000 African entrepreneurs at Victoria Island in Lagos.

Speaking at the session, the president urged African entrepreneurs to have a change of mindset and quit thinking that it is:

“impossible to succeed in my country “but rather try to build their own role model just like Mark Zuckerberg.”

He further told entrepreneurs:

“never listen to people who are telling you to wait. If you believe in your projects, just do it right now.”

The session also chaired by the UBA Chairman provided a platform where participants could network and forge partnerships with French and African business leaders and policymakers who were in attendance.

Macron, being one of the youngest Heads of State in recent times has been on a working visit to Nigeria where he was on Tuesday received by President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House in Abuja.

He later came into Lagos to celebrate the African culture with the Governor of the state, Akinwunmi Ambode at the Afrika Shrine.
