The Nigerian Senate has declared that its rejection of the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu, means that he can no longer remain in office.

The Senate spokesman, Abdulahi Sabi, who disclosed this after plenary on Wednesday afternoon, insisted that the damning report of the Department of State Services, DSS, was adopted by the Senate.

According to him, no one who failed such integrity test should be confirmed by the Senate. “The rejection of Magu by the Senate signifies that he cannot continue in acting capacity.‎
